Certified Christian Counselor
(C.C.C.)

Foundational Christian Counseling

For individuals providing Christian-based counseling and supportive care in churches, ministries, community organizations, and related Christian settings.

This certification recognizes foundational counseling principles, biblical values, ethical awareness, and responsible helping relationships.

Certified Pastoral Counselor
(C.P.C.)

Pastoral Counseling Ministry

For ordained ministers, pastoral caregivers, and trained counselors who provide pastoral counseling within ecclesiastical, ministry, and Christian-care contexts.

This credential recognizes theological understanding, counseling competency, spiritual-care practice, ethics, and pastoral accountability.

Certified Chaplain
(C.Ch.)

Chaplaincy Service

For individuals serving as chaplains in institutional and community environments including healthcare, correctional, educational, military, emergency-service, sports, and community settings.

Candidates demonstrate appropriate chaplaincy preparation, spiritual-care competence, ethics, boundaries, and professional accountability.

Advanced Professional Recognition

Board Certified Options

Advanced certification pathways for experienced Christian counselors and chaplains demonstrating substantial preparation, maturity, ethical leadership, and professional competency.

Board Certified Christian Counselor (B.C.C.C.)

This credential represents an advanced level of professional recognition for experienced Christian counselors.

It affirms advanced education or preparation, counseling or ministry experience, professional maturity, ethical leadership, and sustained competency in Christian counseling practice.

Board Certified Chaplain (B.C.Ch.)

A senior-level certification for experienced chaplains demonstrating advanced training, service, maturity, leadership capacity, and professional chaplaincy competency.

Board certification recognizes advanced spiritual-care practice, supervision awareness, ethical decision-making, institutional ministry, and professional leadership.

$650 USD Initial Certification • Annual Renewal: $200 USD
Includes: advanced application and document review, examination and board assessment, official GAOCPC chaplain badge, personalized plastic photo ID card, printed certificate, credential number, first-year board membership, and public verification listing. Additional international shipping may apply.

How Certification Fees Are Applied

The published initial certification fee is the complete certification package price. The $50 application component and $100 examination component form part of the published total and are not charged in addition to it.

Additional administrative charges apply only where a separate service is required, such as an authorized examination retake, rescheduling request, eligible appeal, or credential-record update.

Payment does not guarantee certification. Certification approval remains subject to applicable education, experience, ethics, documentation, examination, competency, and final credential-review requirements.

Certification Process

From Application to Certification

GAOCPC certification is a structured credentialing process. Examination submission alone does not constitute certification.

Submit the certification application, required documentation, and applicable payment.

Eligibility Review

GAOCPC reviews the candidate's education, experience, ministry background, documentation, and requested pathway.

Common Core

Approved examination candidates complete the 40-question Common Core Examination.

Common Core Review

GAOCPC records the official result. Specialty examination access requires an official pass.

Assigned Examination

The candidate completes the 20-question examination assigned to the approved certification pathway.

Specialty Review

GAOCPC reviews and records the official result of the assigned specialty examination.

Final Credential Review

The complete candidate record undergoes final administrative, ethics, competency, and credential review.

Certification

Approved candidates receive the applicable certification credential and verification record.

GAOCPC certifications are professional Christian ministry credentials. They do not by themselves constitute an academic degree, government licensure, statutory registration, ordination, authorization to use a legally protected professional title, or authorization to practise a regulated profession. Credential holders remain responsible for complying with all legal, professional, institutional, safeguarding, licensing, and scope-of-practice requirements applicable in the jurisdiction where they serve.
