Complaints involving certified members are reviewed through structured ethics and disciplinary procedures designed to protect the public,
uphold professional standards, and ensure fair review processes.

Ethics & Professional Accountability

Certified members of GAOCPC are expected to maintain ethical conduct, professional boundaries, honesty, confidentiality, accountability, and
responsible ministry practice in all professional and pastoral care environments.GAOCPC may review complaints involving ethical misconduct,
abuse of authority, professional negligence, misrepresentation, confidentiality violations, inappropriate conduct, or behavior inconsistent with
the organization’s Code of Ethics.

COMPLAINT REVIEW TIMELINE

Complaint Submission

Complaints may be submitted in writing with supporting documentation describing the concern, incident, or ethical issue requiring review.

Preliminary Review

GAOCPC conducts an initial review to determine whether the complaint falls within certification oversight and ethics review jurisdiction.

Documentation & Evidence Review

Relevant documentation, statements, supporting records, and available evidence may be reviewed as part of the ethics assessment process.

Ethics Committee Assessment

The Ethics Review Committee evaluates professional conduct, ethical accountability, competency concerns, and potential Code of Ethics violations.

Determination & Action

Where necessary, corrective actions may include guidance, probation, suspension, revocation of certification, or other disciplinary measures.

Record Maintenance & Accountability

GAOCPC maintains confidential ethics review documentation and monitors ongoing professional accountability requirements where applicable.

Guidance & Remediation

Additional ethics education, mentorship, or corrective guidance.

Professional Warning

Formal written warning regarding conduct or professional boundaries.

Probationary Status

Temporary certification monitoring with compliance requirements.

Suspension

Temporary suspension of certification pending review or remediation.

Revocation

Removal of certification status for serious ethical violations.

Fair Review & Due Process

GAOCPC seeks to maintain fair, balanced, and confidential review procedures.
Ethics assessments are conducted through documented review processes intended to promote accountability,
professionalism, and responsible certification governance.

Ethics complaints and disciplinary reviews are handled with appropriate confidentiality, documentation control, and professional discretion consistent with organizational review procedures.
