Certification Oversight

The certification and examination process at GACPC is overseen by the Board of Certification and Ethics, composed of seasoned Christian educators, pastoral counselors, and ministry professionals. The Board ensures that all applicants meet high theological, ethical, and professional standards in their counseling or chaplaincy roles.


Available Certifications


Certified Christian Chaplain (C.C.C.)

Who qualifies:

  • Ordained ministers
  • C.P.C.-level certified individuals
  • Graduates of Shiloh College or other recognized institutions

Focus:
Provides biblical care in hospitals, correctional institutions, schools, military, and community settings. Candidates are trained in theology, pastoral presence, and crisis response.

Certified Christian Sports Chaplain (C.C.S.C.)


Who Qualifies

Candidates for the Certified Christian Sports Chaplain (C.C.S.C.) must meet at least one of the following qualifications:

  • Ordained Ministers who are actively serving in ministry
  • Individuals Certified at the C.P.C. Level (Certified Pastoral Counselor)
  • Graduates of Shiloh College or other recognized theological or pastoral institutions

These individuals must demonstrate a calling to serve in sports-related ministry and possess a heart for pastoral care within athletic and team-based environments.


Focus of the Certification

The Certified Christian Sports Chaplain (C.C.S.C.) designation prepares chaplains to offer biblical care, spiritual guidance, and crisis response in various sports and athletic settings.

Certified individuals are trained to minister in:

  • Schools and Universities
  • Correctional and Rehabilitation Sports Programs
  • Military and Law Enforcement Athletic Units
  • Community Sports Leagues and Professional Teams

Chaplains are equipped in:

  • Theological and Biblical Foundations
  • Pastoral Presence and Active Listening
  • Crisis Intervention and Emotional Support
  • Discipleship and Character Formation for Athletes

This certification emphasizes Christ-centered care tailored to the unique spiritual and emotional needs of athletes, coaches, and teams.


Certified Christian Marriage Counselor (C.C.M.C.)

Who qualifies:

  • Holders of the C.P.C. designation
  • Graduates of Shiloh College with a diploma or degree in Christian Counseling
  • Ordained ministers of high moral character

Focus:
Equips counselors to minister to couples through pre-marital and marital counseling grounded in biblical principles.


Certified Christian Grief Counselor (C.C.G.C.)

Who qualifies:

  • C.P.C. certified counselors
  • Trained in bereavement care
  • Spiritually and emotionally mature

Focus:
Offers Christ-centered support for individuals and families navigating grief, loss, or trauma.


Certified Christian Anger Management Counselor (C.C.A.M.C.)

Who qualifies:

  • C.P.C. certified ministers
  • Trained in biblical emotional regulation

Focus:
Helps individuals manage anger and conflict through biblical truth and Christian counseling methods.


Certified Christian Cross-Cultural Counselor (C.C.C.C.)

Who qualifies:

  • C.P.C. certified
  • Culturally aware and biblically trained

Focus:
Prepares counselors to minister effectively across diverse ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.


Certified Christian Life Coach (C.C.L.C.)

Who qualifies:

  • C.P.C. level counselors
  • Life coach training or pastoral mentoring background

Focus:
Guides individuals through personal and spiritual development, vision setting, and accountability from a biblical worldview.


Certified Pastoral Counselor (C.P.C.)

Who qualifies:

  • Graduates of Shiloh College or another accredited Bible institution
  • Holds a degree in Theology, Christian Counseling, or a related field
  • Demonstrates scriptural grounding and counseling proficiency

Focus:
Foundational certification for those offering pastoral counseling in churches, ministries, or professional practice.


General Requirements for Specialized Certifications

  • Must hold the Certified Pastoral Counselor (C.P.C.) designation
  • Be a graduate of Shiloh College or an approved Bible college or seminary
  • Be an ordained minister of exemplary moral and ethical standards
  • Demonstrate knowledge in biblical counseling theory and application
